Miles, the Smart One
Miles was my first Favorite Dog. Saying that now sounds bad, because I always thought of him as more than a dog; he was a part of the family, and he was sort of my kid.
He was born in November of 1996, and my family adopted him the following June, of ’97. He was my pup from then on, and excepting for a three-year absence on my part, he went with me every chance I got to take him along!
Sadly, the Fall of 2009 was the last he spent with us. After suddenly aging very fast, he one day came up gimp after a long walk. A few days of rest didn’t help and a trip to the Vet ensued; Miles was diagnosed with bone cancer, and the end was, unfortunately, close by this point.

Favorite foods
Anything except grapefruit. Mostly, If was edible he’d eat it. Even some things that weren’t.

Best known for
Howled at sirens in the form of a siren. Meaning, his howl was a mimic of the siren he was hearing. Also, one of the fastest learners. Could be taught new tricks within minutes.

“Are you going to eat that?”
“Are we going somewhere? Let’s go somewhere! Let’s go! We’re going, right!? Are we going somewhere?”
