Web Design $$, Moving Day close, & Reasons to Mac it
Did you know there’s money to be made in web design? Yeah, I was shocked, too! Anyway, it’s more fuel for the “buy a book on web languages & read” fire. Might have to get on that bandwagon soon. Maybe there’ll be some gravy left for me. Wink Wink.
The Day Draws Near…
3 days & and counting. I spoke with my supervisor, and while he’d like to keep me on managing their web content, he’s not sure the Big Boss Man will go for it. Well, we’ll see, I guess. I’m not going to be around for the next two weeks regardless, what with the paperwork signing & the house rental search and packing & moving (with luck on the house rental search, anyways). We’ll see if they change their minds when the web content’s quality starts to decline because they can’t find someone who understands the parts we sell and has a grasp on basic html formatting required to put up good-looking stuff, as well as the organization to do it in a timely fashion.
Tuff luck, dudes. Shoulda given me a raise and made it work. I’m outie.
Compelling Reasons to get a Mac
- They’re good-looking
- Generally, they just work as advertised
- They don’t crash like a Doomed Zeppelin as a matter of prescription
- Intuitive by design
- You can be cool like me
Especially that last one.
And for me, if my current employer sees the light and does decide to keep me on as the manager of their web content & creation, I’ll need a faster rig to do the photoshopping & whatnot. Seriously. I was struggling at points today, and it wasn’t even hard work. Some cropping, background deletions, & combining of logos & product, that was it. So hopefully, justification for a newer, faster Mac is in the works, huh? Let’s keep our fingers crossed. Yes, that means you have to participate. It’s one of the things about this blog. Yeah, I might not have mentioned it earlier, but it’s interactive. And you can’t turn back now, it’s too late. So cross your fingers, because I’m watching you. And much like the hulk but without the green skin & all, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.
