Losing 1-1/2 hours on the side of the road, & Netflix workin' out thus far
How
to throw away 1-½ hours
Yesterday,
though it had rained cats & dogs all the morn, it
had cleared to be a nice day out by the time I got
home from work. Say, a perfect day to take the dogs
out?
Now I know what you’re thinking:
Oh god, not another “I love taking the dogs out”
story. Don’t
worry, it’s not that. Here I’ll prove it. This story
starts as I was
leaving to go back
home. So there.
Where was I? Oh yeah. Leaving. To go back home. OK so
I get the dogs dried off, we’re loaded in, I turn
around and get ready to leave, then I pull off on the
side of the road for a minute. A minute that turned
into 1-½ hours, as I managed to get the Mighty
4Runner stuck. So about that rain all day? Turns out
that it made a
nice little
muddy patch out of the side of the road that I found
myself on.
But you have 4WD, I’ve seen you blog about
it, right?
Yes. And believe me, I tried that. And in fact, for a
second I thought that it might work. I got going back
and forth, made some headway, and then…. My axles hit
the ground. And at that point, my wheels were really
just swimming in water.
This was 6:25p. I got home around 8p.
Luckily, in time for Lost.
Otherwise I’d have been
pissed. As it
was, I was just
peeved. Thank
goodness for AAA. Well sort of. More on that another
day.
Netflix:
A reality
After
mentioning that perhaps I should consider a
Netflix
membership, I
actually made good on that and signed up for their
free trial membership. First in queue?
National Geographic’s
Relentless Enemies. I
figured, what better way to put the HD stuff to
the test than a nature show, huh? I just wish that
they had more than the one NG title on Blu-Ray
Disc. Something with Tigers would be nice.
Next on the list? Sunshine.
I’ll keep you updated. But until then,
Peace.
